It was a restless night for me, but at least Téa got a good night’s rest, and she had some congee for breakfast while I caught up on the sleep I didn’t get during the night. After a bit of Science that they didn’t do Thursday or Saturday, we set off to explore after lunch.
Our subway today was Kirby themed, and the girls even spotted a Kirby stuffie driving the train!

After the happy Kirby ride, it didn’t take much of a vending machine to please us!

We exited the subway next door to Kids’ Plaza, where they have a giant playground in the park next door. There were two super steep side-by-side slides, and one short and one long covered slides, and it was absolutely packed with kids! The girls rode the steep slides and favoured the long covered one, Maylin even took an extra bonus round on her own, after Téa decided her stomach had had enough of twisty slides for the day. (Too many kids in all directions, hence no photos.)
In the park next door there was a food festival, which was way too crowded for us today. We ducked into the covered market alley looking for a snack, and had to make do with a strawberry mochi for each of the girls. Suddenly, we had reached the end of the market alley, up by the Housing Museum from last week. We then decided to go look for actual food instead, with both girls wanting pizza, so we started walking towards Umeda.
Along the road, which was absolutely not a tourist area, I spotted a Swedish flag in the distance and got very curious. What could it be?

At Umeda, Téa and I decided to show Joe and Maylin where we had gone for lunch the previous Saturday, when Maylin was sick, so we headed for the 8th floor of the Umeda Links building. They have at least three restaurants up here that serve pizza, and we ended up at the same restaurant we went to in our first week here. Remember the picture of pizza with octopus? We chose different options this time.

By the time we were done with dinner, it was dark outside and we headed towards home. After the two subway rides, Maylin was so tired she begged Joe to ride the bus home, while Téa and I walked. That allowed us to stop at one of the stores along the way and pick up bread for tomorrow’s breakfast.
The girls played the switch and watched The Santa Clause 3, while Joe and I sat down and tried to plan our remaining 26 days in Osaka. Japan has been amazing, we will never have time or budget to see everything, but we have favourites and we have things we do not want to miss, so we have to make sure we have time to cover our Must Dos!
